I had a great day with Guthrie today. We rode our bikes to the local quaker meeting (my first official meeting!) this morning. I helped led some songs as we sat around in this beautiful backyard of the quaker property. It was lovely.... everyone that joined us really appreciated us. Then we went in to the meeting and sat in silence meditating and waiting for "a word"... I shared twice (which I found out you dont normally share more than once... opps!!! I've got a lot to share!).

After the meeting we all sat around and talked. I met several neat people and had a great convo with a younger guy whose been a quaker for 21 years. We talked about a lot. I had a lot of questions and comments about the meeting. I would love to share more about my thoughts on it... but I am gonna move on. After that we biked to downtown santa fe on what was one of the most beautifully artistic bike rides I've ever been on. You have to experience these streets yourself... seeing art work left and right on this narrow, old road... statues, sculptures, and more... art galleries and public art pieces... it was amazing. We went into the chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi (one of my favorite christian figures of history) and it was gorgeous. I was overcome with emotion and my spiritual senses seemed to flare up. Suddenly, as I was standing in this beautiful ornate cathedral I began to cry. I sat and prayed in one of the pews and shed a few more tears. Then we left to find lunch, which ended up being a major chore because Guthrie only had his check book and no one wanted to take his check and I left my wallet at the house. We finally ate at this incredible pizza joint called "The Upper Crust". It was some of the best pizza I have ever had - no joke. Ahh... what a day. I am so appreciative of Guthrie and our time together. It seems we talked for several hours over pizza. I enjoy his company and perspectives.
